The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful:
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) mentioned in the chapter on the prohibition of one who claims a father other than his own or claims allegiance to other than his own kin:
From 'Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him): that he announced on the pulpit while delivering the sermon to the people that they have nothing that the Messenger (may the prayer and peace of Allah be upon him) specifically gave them except the Book of Allah: and this is general for everyone, and what is meant by the Book of Allah is what the Muslims recite today from its beginning to its end, young and old, no one has added to it and no one has subtracted from it.
And in this is a refutation of the Rafidah Shi'ah who claim that a third of the Noble Qur'an has been removed from it, and that the Surah of Wilayah has been removed from it, and the like of that, so they have departed from the consensus of the Muslims:[An-Nisa 4:115].
And in the oath of the Commander of the Faithful (may Allah be pleased with him), who is the fourth caliph, and who is the pious and truthful without an oath: that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not specifically give them anything, is evidence of the lie of the Rafidah Shi'ah who say: that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entrusted the caliphate to 'Ali ibn Abi Talib, and that Abu Bakr and 'Umar are oppressors, transgressors, disbelievers, and hypocrites. Thus, and may Allah protect us, they describe the best of this Ummah with these descriptions. We ask Allah for well-being and we ask Allah to reward them with what they deserve by His justice, for He is Able to do all things.
So 'Ali ibn Abi Talib, if they are truthful in their love and allegiance to him, and that they support him, and that they are his Shi'ah, let them believe him by this oath that he swore on the pulpit while delivering the sermon to the people, announcing it and clarifying it:: which the Muslims, young and old, recite to this day, and praise be to Allah, : and he read in it something about the teeth of camels in zakah, blood money, and wounds, and they were not detailed in this hadith, but they were detailed in other places.
And it mentioned in it:Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2127Sahih (Darussalam): so Madinah has a sanctuary like the sanctuary of Makkah, but it is less than the sanctuary of Makkah in strictness and virtue, because the sanctuary of Makkah cannot be avoided by a believer whose faith is complete except that he visits it as a pilgrim for Hajj and 'Umrah, unlike the sanctuary of Madinah.
And the prohibitions in Madinah are lighter than the prohibitions in Makkah, for this reason it is obligatory in the sanctuary of Makkah to pay compensation for killing game, and that is not obligatory in the sanctuary of Madinah. And this is not a place to mention the differences between the two sanctuaries, for they are about six or seven known differences.
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2127Sahih (Darussalam) is also known, for this sanctuary is one parasy in breadth, meaning four parasangs by four parasangs. This sanctuary, the Prophet (may the prayer and peace of Allah be upon him) said: Sahih Muslim 1371a: innovates an innovation in any matter? In 'aqidah, in methodology, in behavior, opposing the Muslims, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all the people.
And likewise, whoever shelters one who innovates: meaning he brings him into Madinah while he knows that he is one who innovates, so he shelters him, supports him, brings him into his home, covers for him, and the like of that. This one is also a partner with him in the sin, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all the people.
The second sentence:: meaning their covenant is one. If one of the Muslims who has authority over covenants makes a covenant, and you betray the covenant of one, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all the people. For example, if a disbeliever enters the town under the safety and covenant of those who have authority over covenants, or of others, of whoever has the safety, and then one betrays it, he deserves the curse. The curse of whom? The curse of Allah, the angels, and all the people. If a disbeliever enters under the safety of a believing man who gave safety to a disbeliever and said to him: enter, and you are under my protection, an ordinary man from the believers, and then a person comes and kills this disbeliever and says: this is a disbeliever, you must kill him, and he is under the safety of a Muslim, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all the people. We ask Allah for well-being. What if he entered under the safety of the one in authority, and the covenant of the one in authority that he is trusted and under the protection of the state and the safety of the state, and then a person comes and kills him? Upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all the people.
And in this is evidence of the protection of the Islamic religion for whoever enters under its safety and protection, and that the Islamic religion does not know betrayal, does not know assassination, and does not know crimes. The Islamic religion is a clear religion, in it is nothing but clarity. A person whom Muslims have given safety must be safe. And what is the benefit? He must be safe. And by this we know the error of those who betray covenants, betray trust, and assassinate people who have a covenant and safety. And these are deserving of what the Commander of the Faithful 'Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) announced: upon them is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all the people, and may Allah protect us.
Yes, the enemy combatant who enters without safety, no one from the Muslims has made a safety for him, and he enters hiding to be a spy for the enemy or a corrupter in the land, this one is killed, because he has no safety. But a person who enters under the safety of the state or the safety of any party from the Muslims, and he is betrayed, he is not killed. It is a respected, inviolable soul, so whoever betrays it, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all the people.
And by this we know the error of what we hear in some countries of aggression against the safe ones who have a covenant from the state. You find them safe under a covenant from the state, and then a person comes in the name of Islam to betray. Islam does not know betrayal. Allah Mighty and Majestic says:[An-Nahl 16:91], and Allah Mighty and Majestic says: [An-Nahl 16:92].
The covenant is a great matter, and betrayal of it is terrible, and may Allah protect us. It is not from Islam in any way, but some ignorant, naive people think to add their jealousy with what does not match the Book and the Sunnah, and this is an error. The believer is bound by what the Shari'ah brought. Faith is not by desire, and Islam is not by desire:[Al-Mu'minun 23:71] What? [Al-Mu'minun 23:71] But the ways are known, explained, and clear, and the rest of the speech on the hadith will come, if Allah wills.
And in this is a refutation of the Rafidah Shi'ah who claim that a third of the Noble Qur'an has been removed from it, and that the Surah of Wilayah has been removed from it, and the like of that, so they have departed from the consensus of the Muslims:
And whoever opposes the Messenger after guidance has become clear to him and follows other than the way of the believers - We will give him what he has taken and drive him into Hell, and evil it is as a destination.
ومن يشاقق الرسول من بعد ما تبين له الهدى ويتبع غير سبيل المؤمنين نوله ما تولى ونصله جهنم وساءت مصيراًAnd in the oath of the Commander of the Faithful (may Allah be pleased with him), who is the fourth caliph, and who is the pious and truthful without an oath: that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not specifically give them anything, is evidence of the lie of the Rafidah Shi'ah who say: that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entrusted the caliphate to 'Ali ibn Abi Talib, and that Abu Bakr and 'Umar are oppressors, transgressors, disbelievers, and hypocrites. And this is not a place to mention the differences between the two sanctuaries, for they are about six or seven known differences.
what is between 'Air to Thawr
وما بين عَير إلى ثورhe who made any innovation in it. or gave protection to an innovator, there is upon him the curse of Allah, that of the angels and that of all the people
مَن أحدث فيه حدثاً أو آوى مُحدثاً فعليه لعنة الله والملائكة والناس أجمعينAnd likewise, whoever shelters one who innovates: meaning he brings him into Madinah while he knows that he is one who innovates, so he shelters him, supports him, brings him into his home, covers for him, and the like of that. This one is also a partner with him in the sin, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all the people.
The second sentence:
That the covenant (dhimmah) of the Muslims is one
أن ذمة المسلمين واحدةAnd in this is evidence of the protection of the Islamic religion for whoever enters under its safety and protection, and that the Islamic religion does not know betrayal, does not know assassination, and does not know crimes. The Islamic religion is a clear religion, in it is nothing but clarity. A person whom Muslims have given safety must be safe. And what is the benefit? He must be safe. And fulfill the covenant of Allah when you have taken it, [O believers], and do not break oaths after their confirmation
وأوفوا بعهد الله إذا عاهدتم ولا تنقضوا الأيمان بعد توكيدهاAnd do not be like she who untwisted her spun thread after it was strong [by] taking your oaths as [means of] deceit between you because one community is more plentiful [in number or wealth] than another community
ولا تكونوا كالتي نقضت غزلها من بعد قوة أنكاثا تتخذون أيمانكم دخلا بينكم أن تكون أمة هي أربى من أمةThe covenant is a great matter, and betrayal of it is terrible, and may Allah protect us. It is not from Islam in any way, but some ignorant, naive people think to add their jealousy with what does not match the Book and the Sunnah, and this is an error. The believer is bound by what the Shari'ah brought. Faith is not by desire, and Islam is not by desire:
