Benefits of the Hadith: (Allah does not look upon a man who approaches a man or a woman in her rear passage)
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : It is derived from this hadith: that if a man approaches a woman in her rear passage, Allah does not look upon him. Consequently, approaching a woman in her rear passage is among the major sins. However, if a man approaches a woman in her rear passage, is the marriage contract annulled? We said: It is not annulled, but the wife has the right to demand annulment, because this is a form of bad treatment. As for one who is known for this act and did it habitually, Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah said that it is obligatory to separate him from his wife, because this is a sin, and it is not permissible for them to cohabit in this manner.
This hadith serves as a corroborating narration for the hadith before it, because each of them indicates the warning for one who approaches a woman in her rear passage. Thus, it is a corroborating narration for the first hadith, strengthening it. It is not reported from any of the Imams that he permitted intercourse with a woman in her rear passage. What is narrated from al-Shafi'i (may Allah have mercy on him) regarding this was denied by his companions and they called it a lie. Likewise, what is narrated from Malik was denied by his companions and they called it a lie. What is reported from them is understood to mean when a man approaches a woman in her front passage from her rear. This is what is reported from them, and anything other than that is not authentic. We have mentioned previously that the prohibition of this can be derived from the prohibition of intercourse during menstruation, based on the saying of Allah the Exalted:[Al-Baqarah 2:222] The harm in the rear passage is more severe and more vile than the harm in the front passage during menstruation.
