Q: In a question posed by a woman who said: I forbade an evil I saw in my workplace, and that was the reason I was fired and the cause of my misery and psychological distress. I have now forbidden my children from forbidding any evil. I ask for guidance. May Allah reward you.
A: His Eminence Shaykh Abdul Aziz ibn Abdullah ibn Baz, the Grand Mufti of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the President of the Council of Senior Scholars and the Department of Islamic Research and Ifta, said: There is no doubt that what happened to you was a great error on the part of whoever did it, if you had forbidden the evil with knowledge and insight. It is obligatory for you to forbid evil, and it does not harm you that you were fired and they did without you, for you have pleased your Lord and done what is obligatory for you to do.
His Eminence clarified that all matters are in the hand of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He). He said: It is authentic from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:Sahih Muslim 49a And Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) says in His Noble Book: [At-Tawbah: 71] And He says, Mighty is He who speaks: [Al-Imran: 110].
His Eminence Shaykh Ibn Baz addressed the questioner by saying: If you do that in obedience to Allah and seeking His pleasure, then the outcome will be good for you, and what happened will not harm you. Allah will provide for you in place of that, and Allah is the Provider (Exalted and Majestic is He), and in His hand is all good. He is the One who says, Glorified is He: [At-Talaq: 2-3] [At-Talaq: 4] His Eminence clarified that it is upon the believer to fear Allah , and it is upon everyone to enjoin good and forbid evil.
His Eminence concluded his answer by addressing the questioner: You have erred in forbidding your children from forbidding evil. So fear Allah and repent to Him for that, and advise them with what Allah has made obligatory upon them.

He who amongst you sees something abominable should modify it with the help of his hand; and if he has not strength enough to do it, then he should do it with his tongue, and if he has not strength enough to do it, (even) then he should (abhor it) from his heart, and that is the least of faith.
