What is the ruling on the blood if a woman has a miscarriage?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: If a woman has a miscarriage, what is the ruling on the blood? Is it post-natal bleeding? Or does it have the ruling of menstruation?

A: If the miscarriage occurs after the child has taken form and it is evident that it is a human being, such as if the head or a hand is visible, even if it is small, then it is considered post-natal bleeding. The woman must leave off the ritual prayer and fasting until she becomes pure, or until she completes forty days, because that is the limit of post-natal bleeding. If she becomes pure before that, she must perform the full ritual bath, pray, fast, and it becomes permissible for her to have intercourse with her husband. If the blood continues with her, she leaves off the ritual prayer and fasting, and it does not become permissible for her to have intercourse with her husband until she completes the forty days. When she has completed them, she performs the full ritual bath, fasts, prays, and it becomes permissible for her to have intercourse with her husband, even if she still has blood, because at that point it is blood of corruption. This is because anything exceeding forty days is considered blood of corruption. She performs the ablution for every prayer, while taking precautions against it, just like a woman with irregular non-menstrual bleeding or a man with incontinence.
As for if it has not taken form and nothing indicating the creation of a human being in it is apparent, such as if it is a piece of flesh with no human form or just blood, then this is considered blood of corruption. She prays and fasts, performs the ablution for every prayer, and takes good precautions.
