Is the adhan and iqamah obligatory for a person praying alone in the desert?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: His Eminence the Grand Mufti of the Kingdom, the venerable Shaykh: Abdul Aziz ibn Abdullah ibn Baz, may Allah preserve him, amen. Peace be upon you and Allah's mercy and blessings. And after that:
A group of guides travel with us in the desert, saying: that prayer without the iqamah is a recommended practice established from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and that there is no need for the adhan and iqamah if you are in the desert or praying alone. We would like to confirm with your Eminence the guidance of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in this matter, and may Allah preserve and protect you.
The citizen: M. M. D.

A: And upon you be peace, and Allah’s mercy and blessings, after that:
The adhan and iqamah are a collective obligation (fard kifayah) upon the Muslims in the villages and the desert; due to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to Malik ibn al-Huwayrith and his companion:
When the time for prayer comes, say the Adhan and Iqamahإذا حضرت الصلاة فأذنا وأقيما
Sunan Ibn Majah 979Sahih (Darussalam)
, and in another wording:
one of you should pronounce the Adhan for the prayer when its time is due and the oldest one amongst you should lead the prayer.إذا حضرت الصلاة فليؤذن لكم أحدكم وليؤمكم أكبركم
Sahih al-Bukhari 628
. And he (peace and blessings be upon him) in Madinah would order Bilal to call the adhan and the iqamah, and likewise Ibn Umm Maktum, who would take over the adhan and iqamah in place of Bilal. And it is established in the authentic hadith of Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said to some of those who asked him about the adhan:
When you are among your sheep or in your desert, call the prayer and raise your voice in the adhan, because I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say, 'No jinn or man or anything within range hears the voice of the muadhdhin except that it bears witness for him on the day of rising.'فإذا كنت في غنمك أو باديتك فأذنت بالصلاة، فارفع صوتك بالنداء، فإنه لا يسمع مدى صوت المؤذن جن ولا إنس ولا شيء إلا شهد له يوم القيامة
Muwatta Malik 3:5
May Allah guide them all.
And peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
