Ruling on praying in (pants)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: The questioner: A. A. from Riyadh says: What is the ruling on wearing pants (trousers)? Especially since some of those who wear them have part of their 'awrah (the part of the body that must be covered) exposed, and that is during their bowing and prostration in prayer.

A: If the pants—which are trousers—cover the area between the navel and the knee for a man, and are loose rather than tight, then the prayer is valid in them. It is better to have a shirt over them that covers the area between the navel and the knee and extends down to the middle of the shin or to the ankle; because that is more complete in covering.
Praying in a covering sarong is better than praying in trousers if there is no covering shirt over them; because the sarong is more complete in covering than trousers.
