Delaying the guard from prayer until after its time
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: A soldier tasked with guarding a certain location reached the time of the 'Asr prayer, but he did not pray it until after the Maghrib prayer because he could not find someone to take over his guard duty. Is he sinful for delaying it? And what should one in that situation do?
A: It is not permissible for the guard or anyone else to delay the prayer until after its time; because of the saying of Allah the Exalted: [Surat al-Nisa: 103], meaning: it is obligatory in its times, and because of other evidence from the Book and the Sunnah.
He must pray the prayer in its time while performing his guard duty, just as the Muslims prayed the prayer of fear with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) while they were in rows facing the enemy. And success is from Allah.

Indeed, prayer has been decreed upon the believers a decree of specified times.
