And whoever repents among them before being seized, what was due to Allah from expulsion, amputation, crucifixion, and the obligation of execution is dropped from him.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : The author said "And whoever repents among them before being seized, what was due to Allah from his right, from expulsion, amputation, crucifixion, and the obligation of execution, is dropped from him" "And whoever repents among them" Repentance in language means returning, and in the Shari'ah it means returning from the disobedience of Allah to His obedience. If it is regarding the leaving of an obligatory act, it is by performing it if it can be made up, or by performing its substitute if it cannot be made up and it has a substitute. If it has no substitute, then mere regret for what was missed is sufficient. For example, if we say that the eclipse prayer is obligatory and a person did not pray it, what is the repentance from it?

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : Yes?

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : It is by regret, because it has no substitute and cannot be made up due to the passing of the time of its cause. And if one repents from leaving an obligatory act in Hajj, yes, does it have a substitute or not?
