Is the slave not among the people? So why do we not make Hajj obligatory upon him until his master gives him permission?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Is the slave not among the people?

The Shaykh : He is among the people.

The questioner : Is he not among those who have the means?

The Shaykh : He is among those who have the means if he is given permission and provided for.

The questioner : He possesses the provisions and the mount...

The Shaykh : We have an airplane now; we gave him a full ticket or sent him with a caravan.
The questioner ... is among those who have the means and is among the people, and Allah the Exalted says:
And [due] to Allah from the people is a pilgrimage to the House - for whoever is able to find thereto a way ولله على الناس حج البيت لمن استطاع إليه سبيلاً
[Ali 'Imran 3:97]
.

The Shaykh : I told you that there is scholarly disagreement in this issue, and we explained the perspective of each opinion. So whoever among you finds the opinion of obligation to be the stronger is free to say that it is obligatory for the slave.

The questioner : No, we want your opinion, O Shaykh.

The Shaykh : I am holding back, by Allah, but I told you that if the situation arises, Allah will make a way out for it.
