Tafsir: {Do not think that those who rejoice in what they have done}

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is the verse general:
And never think that those who rejoice in what they have perpetrated and like to be praised for what they did not doلَا تَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ يَفْرَحُونَ بِمَا أَتَوْا وَيُحِبُّونَ أَنْ يُحْمَدُوا بِمَا لَمْ يَفْعَلُوا
[Al Imran: 188]?

Answer:
It is general regarding those like them. As for one who loves to be praised for truth and guidance, he is not included. However, the intended meaning is if one does what the Jews do or what the hypocrites do, meaning he conceals evil and displays good; then he is included in the warning. We ask Allah for safety.
