Does the warning for one who visits a fortune-teller include one who visits a sorcerer?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
Whoever goes to a diviner من أتى عرافا
and his saying:
Whoever visits a fortune-tellerمن أتى كاهنا
Does this include the sorcerer?

Answer:
The sorcerer may fall under this in the sense that he claims knowledge of the unseen matters, in which case he is included among the diviners. As for the fortune-teller, the term generally refers to one who claims knowledge of the unseen through eavesdropping on the angels. As for the sorcerers, their affair is either inflicting harm on people, or bringing a man and a woman together, or separating them, through the jinn. This is the work of sorcerers. As for fortune-telling, they claim knowledge of the unseen, informing people that such and such will happen, that so-and-so will travel, that so-and-so will die, that the family of so-and-so will be defeated, that such and such disasters will occur. These are mostly the reports of fortune-tellers. We ask Allah for safety.
