The Difference Between Sorcery and a Miracle Granted to a Righteous Person

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Your Eminence, the Shaykh—may Allah reward you with good—there are those who mix up a miracle granted to a righteous person (karamah) with the sorcery of sorcerers and the prophetic miracles of the prophets. Is there any guidance on this? May Allah bless you.

Answer:
The rule is this: a miracle granted to a righteous person (karamah) does not occur unless the servant is upright upon the religion of Allah. If he is upright upon the religion of Allah, known for his goodness and uprightness in obedience to Allah and His Messenger, and is from the people of the oneness of Allah (tawhid) and faith (iman), then this is a karamah. Otherwise, it is from sorcery, from the adornment of Satan, and from the deeds of the devils by which they deceive people. If the man is not upright, that is a sign that what occurred through his hands is sorcery, not a karamah.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
