The ruling on one who prevents his wife from visiting her relatives
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Among the problems of our society, O Shaykh, is one sent by one of the female listeners (M. A. S.) from al-Ta'if. The problem is on two pages. Should I read these two pages, or summarize them? May Allah reward you with good.
The Shaykh : Summarize it.
The presenter : The summary is that her husband does not respond to her requests sometimes, and she complains about his mother and his sisters, to the extent that the husband has responded to the talebearing coming from his sisters and his mother. He does not take her to visit her relatives, even during the festivals. She asks for your guidance for all parties. May Allah reward you with good.
Answer:
We advise everyone to fear Allah and to cooperate in righteousness and piety. We advise her, the woman, to be upright, to be tolerant in this matter, and to supplicate to Allah for guidance for everyone. We advise the sisters and others to leave what Allah has forbidden them, namely backbiting and talebearing. We advise the husband to fear Allah, to fulfill his obligation, to be just, and not to harm the woman. We advise everyone to fear Allah, for each one to do what is obligatory upon him, and for the husband to beware of wronging her.
Likewise, his sisters and relatives must fear Allah and beware of wronging her. And she, too, you, O wife, must fear Allah, not lie to them, and not harm them in any way. As for if the matter continues and your husband does not reform; then you have the right to complain to the court regarding what he has wronged you with, and regarding what the court deems sufficient, if Allah wills.
And if you, or your guardians, or a group of people of good, or a person of good, or a woman of good, intervene to reconcile everyone and to remove the danger; then reconciliation is better.
The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
