The state of the prayer of one who does not know how to recite the tashahhud

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
He says: In our country, many people do not memorize the tahiyat—the tashahhud. Is their prayer valid without the tashahhud, given that they are illiterate, unable to read or write? Or are we obligated to teach those among them whom we can? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
They are obligated to learn everything that is obligatory in their prayer. They must learn al-Fatihah, they must learn the tashahhud, and they must learn everything they are ignorant of regarding the prayer. It is obligatory for you to teach them, guide them, and direct them to good until they understand what Allah has made obligatory upon them in prayer. This applies likewise to zakah, likewise to fasting, and likewise to Hajj if they perform it.
The point is: It is obligatory for the believer to understand the fiqh of his prayer, to learn what is obligatory upon him, and not to be lax in this matter. This is because Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, created him for worship, as He said: :
And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me.وَمَا خَلَقْتُ الْجِنَّ وَالإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ
[Surat al-Dhariyat: 56], and He commanded this. He said, Glorified is He:
O mankind, worship your Lordيَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اعْبُدُوا رَبَّكُمُ
[Surat al-Baqarah: 21]. This worship must be known by you, O believer, and it must be known by the believing woman. It is obedience to Allah and His Messenger, and standing firm upon His religion. This is the worship for which we were created: to worship Allah alone by obeying His commands and leaving His prohibitions. The greatest of this is tawhid (the oneness of Allah), sincerity to Him, and testifying that there is no true deity worthy of worship except He , and testifying that Muhammad is the servant of Allah and His Messenger. Then comes the prayer, and the remaining matters of the religion. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
He upon whom Allah intends to bestow goodness, He confers upon him an insight in religionمن يرد الله به خيرًا؛ يفقهه في الدين
Sahih Muslim 1037a
, ... So among the signs of good is that Allah grants a servant understanding in his religion. And among the signs of a bad ending is that one does not learn and does not gain understanding in the religion. We ask Allah for safety. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
