The Ruling on Writing Verses and Hadiths and Hanging Them on Walls

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Your Eminence is also asked about the ruling on writing Qur'anic verses and Prophetic hadiths, and about the ruling on hanging them in homes? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
As for taking care to preserve the Qur'an, that is something required, a recommended practice, and so is preserving hadiths by writing them down: the authentic hadiths so that one may memorize them, and the weak hadiths so that one may recognize them. It is good to write them down and take care of them. However, one should memorize the authentic hadiths so that one acts upon them. As for hanging them on a sick person or on children, that is not permissible. It is not permissible to hang hadiths, verses, or anything else on the sick, on children, or on anyone else.
These are the amulets that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade and warned against. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Whoever hangs an amulet, Allah will not complete for himمن تعلق تميمة؛ فلا أتم الله له
Sunan al-Bayhaqi 17:557
:
Whoever hangs an amulet, he has associated partners with Allahمن تعلق تميمة؛ فقد أشرك
Therefore, it is not permissible to hang amulets, whether from verses, or from hadiths, or from other supplications, or from any material. Rather, that is a denunciation and is not permissible. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
