The Ruling on Prostrating Alone Without a Cause

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is it true that frequent prostration to Allah is a religious innovation, considering that I often remember Allah’s blessings upon me and prostrate to Him in gratitude?

Answer:
Prostrating alone is not done except for its specific causes, such as the prostration of recitation when a person encounters a prostration verse, or when a new blessing occurs; then he prostrates to Allah in gratitude, such as if Allah grants him a child, or if he hears of a victory for the Muslims and their triumph over their enemy; then he prostrates to Allah in gratitude.
As for prostrating without causes, it has no basis; it is a religious innovation. One should perform a complete prayer, praying two rak'ahs or more, and concluding every two with the taslim. This is a prescribed and good practice. All prayer is good, but it is done in pairs, whether at night or during the day.
As for prostrating alone, it is not done except for causes, such as for recitation when one encounters a prostration verse; he prostrates, or for gratitude, such as if Allah grants him a new blessing like a child, or a victory for the Muslims, or recovery from an accident, or something similar; he prostrates to Allah in gratitude. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
