The Ruling on Scattering Amulets and Informing About Unseen Matters

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Our sister says: There is a woman who scatters amulets in front of people and informs them that such and such unseen matters will happen. However, she does not say that she knows the unseen; rather, she says that she does it merely for amusement, and that what she says may or may not happen. What is the ruling on that?
Answer: This action is not permissible for her. This is from the practice of the people of sorcery and witchcraft. This is not permissible; rather, it is obligatory to disapprove of her and prevent her from this action, and to inform her that this is not permissible, and that this leads to her claiming knowledge of the unseen and deceiving people. This is not permissible. Therefore, it is obligatory for this woman to fear Allah and to be mindful of Allah, and to beware of this evil action which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) disapproved of and warned against. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Whoever hangs an amulet, Allah will not complete [his affair], and whoever ties an amulet, Allah will not protect him.من علق تميمة فلا أتم الله له، ومن تعلق ودعة فلا ودع الله له
. Therefore, it is obligatory to beware of this evil action, which is a means to claiming knowledge of the unseen and a means to deceiving people. We ask Allah for health and guidance for everyone.
The presenter: O Allah, amen. May Allah reward you with good and do you good.
