Spending some of the zakah on miscellaneous expenses

Fatwa No. (18348)
Q: We have a car installment plan, and I pay zakah. From the end of 30/6/1416 AH, i.e., the end of Jumada al-Thani, zakah becomes obligatory on me every year, meaning the lunar year completes. I was surprised to be responsible for the zakah and its payment, as I am one of the partners. I have spent some time on miscellaneous expenses. Are these considered part of the zakah or not? Should I deduct them from the zakah or from something else? And am I considered one of the workers on it? Please inform us, and may Allah reward you with good.
A: It is obligatory for you and your partners to pay the zakah every year
when the lunar year is complete, if the wealth reaches the nisab. It is obligatory for you to pay it to those who are entitled to it. It is not permissible for you to spend any of it on miscellaneous expenses, nor is it permissible for you to take any of it in exchange for delivering it to those entitled to it; because you are not one of the workers on it; because the workers are those whom the imam sends to collect the zakah from the people of wealth. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
