The questioner : He says: Last year I performed the obligatory Hajj, and praise be to Allah, and I decided, after stoning the three pillars on the twelfth day, to hasten my departure. I got into the car at a very tight time, and there was no possibility of seeing the sun. But as soon as I had passed slightly beyond the sign that reads “Mina Boundary” or “Start of Mina,” I heard the adhan for the Maghrib prayer. Doubt began to trouble me from time to time, and I was not certain that I had left that place before sunset or after it. What should I do? And is my Hajj valid?

The Shaykh : The Hajj is valid, and he owes nothing. If a person intends to hasten and gets into his car and proceeds, let him continue on his way even if the sun sets while he is still in Mina, because the man hastened and set out. But sometimes cars block him or his car breaks down without his choosing to stay, so we say: proceed on your way, and there is no blame on you.

The questioner : May Allah reward you, O honorable Shaykh, and may Allah bless you and your knowledge and benefit the Muslims with you. O brothers and sisters, in conclusion, accept the greetings of my colleague, the sound engineer Hamd ibn Muhammad al-Wabli. And peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
