The forbidden breastfeeding is five feedings or more within the first two years

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
He says in another question: Our brother’s wife gave birth to twin boys. Our mother brought one of them to breastfeed him, but he refused to nurse for one night, and the milk did not come to him. In the morning, she gave him back to his mother and brought the other one, whom she raised and breastfed. The question is: Can the first one, who did not nurse, marry his paternal cousins’ daughters, or are they his sisters?

Answer:
The one who did not nurse is permitted to marry his paternal cousins’ daughters; because he is not your mother’s son. She did not breastfeed him, even if she raised him, even if she treated him well, and even if she tried to breastfeed him. As long as he did not nurse, he remains the cousin of the girls and can marry his paternal cousins’ daughters, just like any other person. This is because the breastfeeding that creates a prohibition must be five feedings or more within the first two years. So, if your mother did not breastfeed him, it is permissible for him to marry his paternal cousins’ daughters; there is no obstacle. Yes.

The presenter : Their mother breastfed his twin brother.

The Shaykh : It does not matter, it does not matter. The breastfeeding is only for his twin brother. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good.
