The Reality of the Torture of Disbelievers and Sinners in the Barzakh

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
This is a questioner for the program who used the initials (A. A. A) as a code for his name. He says: When a person dies and is buried, is he tortured for the duration of his death until the Day of Resurrection, if he was truly evil in his actions, words, and deeds? Or is it for a period according to his deeds, or according to his works? We ask you for guidance? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon whoever follows his guidance. As for what follows:
The authentic hadiths from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) indicate that when a servant is placed in his grave, two angels come to him and ask him: About his Lord, his religion, and his Prophet? If Allah makes him firm and he gives the correct answer, a door to Paradise is opened for him, and he receives from its bliss and its goodness. A door to the Fire is also opened for him, and it is said: This is your seat if you had disbelieved in Allah. Allah has replaced this seat in Paradise for you. He sees both. The disbeliever is the opposite of that: a door to the Fire is opened for him, and he receives from its punishment, its evil, and its poisons. A door to Paradise is opened for him, and it is said: This is your seat if Allah had guided you, but you disbelieved in Allah, so you were deprived of this seat.
The apparent meaning of the Sunnah and the Book is that the one who is guided is blessed, and the disbeliever is tortured. But how is he tortured? And how does the torture continue? This is with Allah .
Likewise, the manner of the bliss is with Allah. The believer has nothing except what the hadiths have brought. He believes in what the hadiths have brought. As for the manner of the bliss and its continuation, and the manner of the torture and its continuation, this is with Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He). Allah says regarding the people of Pharaoh:
The Fire, they are exposed to it morning and evening. And the Day the Hour appears [it will be said], "Make the people of Pharaoh enter the severest punishment."
[Ghafir: 46]. The verse indicates that they are presented in the morning and in the evening, not constantly.
The point is that the torture and the bliss are referred to Allah. The details and the manner are with Him . But we know that the believer is blessed in his grave and the disbeliever is tortured in his grave. How is the bliss? And how is the torture? This is with Allah . We have nothing except what the text has brought: that a door to Paradise is opened for the believer, and he receives from its bliss and its goodness. And the disbeliever has a door to the Fire opened for him—may Allah grant us safety—and in the two Sahihs, from the hadith of Ibn Abbas: that Allah showed the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) two graves. He said:
"Indeed they are being punished."إنهما ليعذبان
Then he said:
but they are not being punished for anything majorوما يعذبان في كبير
Sunan Ibn Majah 349Sahih (Darussalam)
Then he said:
One of them never saved himself from being soiled with his urineبلى، أما أحدهما فكان لا يستتر من البول
Sahih al-Bukhari 218
meaning: he did not purify himself from urine
and the other used to walk about spreading malicious gossip.وأما الآخر فكان يمشي بالنميمة
Sunan Ibn Majah 347Sahih (Darussalam)
. So he informed that they are being tortured for these two matters. As for the manner of the torture, it was not made clear to us.
As for the sinner, he is one of the two extremes. There is nothing in the Sunnah and the Book that clarifies, as far as we know, the manner of his bliss, nor the manner of his torture. He is in danger. The one who dies upon sins from which he did not repent, such as zina, or intoxicants, or undutifulness to parents, is in danger of punishment. But no one knows the manner of that except Allah . But he is not of the kind of the disbeliever, nor of the kind of the sound believer, but he is between them. And in the Hereafter as well, he may be punished, or Allah may forgive him and admit him to Paradise. He may enter the Fire, but he will not remain in it forever. He will be punished according to his sins, then Allah will take him out of the Fire into Paradise. So his state is between the two states. He is the one who wrongs himself, but his end is to Paradise, his ultimate destination is to Paradise and safety. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good.
