The ruling on shaking hands with a woman, with and without a barrier

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The first message in this episode is from one of our brother listeners who asks several questions. The questioner is our brother Ahmad Ali Abdullah from Khartoum, Sudan. He says: What is the ruling on shaking hands with a woman? And is it permissible to shake hands with a woman using a barrier, such as a piece of cloth or something else? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow his guidance. As for what follows:
Shaking hands with a non-mahram woman is not permissible; because of the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the authentic hadith:
But I do not shake hands with women.إني لا أصافح النساء
Sunan Ibn Majah 2874Sahih (Darussalam)
And Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said:
By Allah, the hand of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) never touched the hand of a woman; he only pledged allegiance to them with words.والله ما مست يد رسول الله يد امرأة قط، ما كان يبايعهن إلا بالكلام
, and because handshaking is a means to fitnah (trial or temptation), it is not permissible even with a barrier; because handshaking with a barrier is a means to handshaking without a barrier. It is sufficient to greet with words, it is sufficient to greet with words and ask about one's condition, this is sufficient instead of handshaking, and praise be to Allah. As for mahrams, there is nothing wrong, there is nothing wrong with a man shaking hands with his mother, his sister, his daughter, his aunt, and the like. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
