The ruling on performing Hajj on behalf of one's father and explaining how to perform it on his behalf

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
He says: Is it permissible for me to perform the obligatory Hajj on behalf of my deceased father (may Allah have mercy on him)? And what is obligatory for me to do in performing this obligation so that my father's Hajj is valid and accepted by Allah, if Allah wills, the Exalted?

Answer:
You perform Hajj for your father just as you perform it for yourself; you perform Hajj for your father just as you perform it for yourself. The best option is tamattu'. You come with an 'Umrah from the miqat, the miqat of your country. If you are from the people of Najd, it is from al-Sail. You perform tawaf, sa'y, and shorten your hair; this is the 'Umrah. Then, on the eighth day, you make the talbiyah for Hajj. You go with the people to Mina, then to 'Arafah, then to Muzdalifah. Then you perform ramy al-jamarat after the day of 'Id and on the other days, with the intention for your father. Then you perform tawaf and sa'y; you perform tawaf and sa'y for your Hajj. And when leaving, you perform the farewell tawaf, seven circuits around the House. This is the action that will be for your father.
And if you perform an ifrad Hajj for the House, with Hajj only, or with Hajj and 'Umrah together, and you arrive in Mecca with that and remain in your ihram without having exited it, having performed tawaf and sa'y, and remain in a state of ihram until you go to Mina and 'Arafah, then only the tawaf remains upon you. The first tawaf and sa'y are sufficient. The first tawaf, if you performed it upon arrival along with the sa'y, is sufficient regarding the matter of sa'y. But you perform the tawaf after Hajj, on the day of 'Id or after it, the tawaf al-ifadah for the Hajj. Then the farewell tawaf when leaving. And nothing is required of you except if you performed 'Umrah and Hajj as a qiran for the House, in which case you must offer a fidyah, a sacrificial animal slaughtered in Mina or in the Noble Mecca for this intention. You eat from it and feed others; you eat from it and feed the poor. Yes.
