The ruling on a woman performing Hajj on behalf of her father

Question:
The questioner: The woman who indicated her name as (Q. M. A.) in Makkah al-Mukarramah says: She is Egyptian and resides in Makkah al-Mukarramah. She has performed the obligatory Hajj for herself, and she wants to perform Hajj this year on behalf of her father. She asks: Is it permissible for me to perform Hajj on his behalf, knowing that he is still alive, is ill, and is unable to perform Hajj due to hardship? My father has reached old age and is unable to move. Please advise us on this, O honorable Shaykh?

Answer:
That is fine, there is no harm. You will be rewarded, if Allah wills, if you perform Hajj on behalf of your father who is unable to perform Hajj. You are rewarded, and praise be to Allah, for you have already performed Hajj for yourself, and praise be to Allah. So if you perform Hajj on behalf of your father, or your deceased mother, or one who is unable to perform it, there is no blame on you. Yes.
