Is it permissible for a man to wear a gold ring?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Is it permissible for a man to wear a gold ring?

The Shaykh : It is not permissible for a man to wear anything made of gold, whether a ring, a chain, a bracelet, or a necklace. All gold is forbidden for men. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said regarding gold and silk:
They are lawful for the females of my Ummah, but forbidden for the males. هما حل لإناث أمتي حرام على ذكورها
He saw a man wearing a gold ring, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took it from his hand and threw it on the ground, or cast it on the ground, and said:
One of you is wishing live coal from Hell. and putting it on his hand. يعمد أحدكم إلى جمرة من نار فيضعها في يده
Sahih Muslim 2090
When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) left, it was said to the man, "Will you not take your ring?" He said, "By Allah, I will not take a ring that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) threw away." This indicates the gravity of a man wearing a gold ring.
If someone asks, "What should a man do if a gold ring has been made for him?" We say: if it is suitable for his wife, he should give it to her. If it is not suitable, he should take it to a goldsmith to have it converted into a women's ring and sell it. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you.
