The Ruling on Men Wearing a Gold Ring

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: What is the ruling on men wearing a gold ring, which is called the wedding ring?

Answer: It is not permissible for a man to wear a gold ring, neither before marriage nor after; because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade wearing gold rings in authentic hadiths. When he saw a gold ring on a man’s hand, he took it off and threw it away, saying:
One of you takes a coal of fire and puts it in his handيعمد أحدكم إلى جمرة من النار فيضعها في يده
Muslim narrated it in his Sahih. This indicates the prohibition of men wearing gold rings, and that it is not permissible at all, even if it is for marriage.
