The Ruling on Wiping Over Socks and Boots

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
From Abdulaziz ibn Abdullah ibn Baz to the honorable brother, the Director of the Primary Quran Memorization School in Jeddah, may Allah keep him safe.
Peace be upon you, and Allah’s mercy and blessings, and after that:
I have reviewed your inquiry, registered with the Department of Scientific Research and Ifta under number 752, dated 24/2/1407 AH, which includes your difficulty with certain paragraphs found in my textbook, *Fiqh Curriculum for the Fifth and Sixth Grades of Primary School*.

Answer:
I inform you that it is permissible to wipe over boots along with the part of the socks that is visible, and the ruling applies to both. Therefore, if one removes the boots after a state of ritual impurity, he must remove the socks and perform ablution again for prayer and the like. If he wipes over the socks without wiping over the boots, that is sufficient if the socks cover the obligatory area, and it does not harm him if he removes the boots during prayer or otherwise. May Allah guide everyone to what He is pleased with.
