Ruling on one who intentionally breaks the fast of a vow

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner says, Your Eminence, the Shaykh: What is the ruling if I intended to fast for a vow I made, and I broke the fast in the afternoon, and then I fasted that day on another day, knowing that I did not specify a time for the fast in my vow?
Answer: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Whoever vows that he will be obedient to Allah, should remain obedient to Himمن نذر أن يطيع الله فليطعه
Sahih al-Bukhari 6696
. If you vowed to fast and began it, it is obligatory for you to complete it, just like expiation and Ramadan. If the fast is a vow, it is an obligation, so if you begin it, it is obligatory for you to complete it. If you broke the fast in it, you must repent and seek forgiveness, and make up that day, and praise be to Allah. Yes.
