The ruling on the obligation of a son to provide for his mother's Hajj expenses when she has money

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
He says: My mother needs money to perform Hajj, and she has money. Is it obligatory for me to provide for her Hajj expenses, or is it obligatory for my mother?

Answer:
You are not obligated to provide for her expenses as long as she has money; she must spend from her own money. This is if her Hajj is an obligatory duty. However, if her Hajj is a voluntary act, then she owes nothing. Hajj is once in a lifetime, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Hajj is once." Anything beyond that is voluntary. So if she has already performed Hajj, praise be to Allah. If she wants to do it voluntarily, she should spend from her money, and you should help her and go with her to Makkah. If you spend from your wealth out of kindness to her, goodness toward her, and a desire to encourage her to do good, then you will be rewarded. If you are able, it is best that you do not hold her accountable; spend from your wealth. This is a blessing from Allah. You should spend on her and be good to her. So be glad of the good, and do not hold her accountable or argue with her about this if you are able. Spend, be good, and be glad of the good. Help her with Hajj, even if it is voluntary, and you will be in great goodness and have a great reward. But you are not obligated, as long as she has money, you are not obligated. However, out of your kindness to her, your goodness toward her, and consideration for her feelings so that she does not have any resentment toward you, you should spend from your wealth, be good to her, and be happy to spend on her and take her for Hajj. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good.
