The ruling on one who leaves some of the prayers due to work
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
He says: I often miss the midday and afternoon prayers because of the work in which we spend about eight hours. So what do you advise me to do? And is it permissible to make them up?
Answer:
It is obligatory for you to preserve all the prayers, and to fear Allah (Mighty and Majestic) in that, and to repent to Him for what has passed. Whoever intentionally leaves them, deliberately intending to leave them, commits disbelief by doing so, and he must repent to Allah for that. Repentance does not require him to make them up, but if he does make them up, there is no harm, in order to avoid the disagreement of those who said: he does not commit disbelief if he did not deny the obligation of the prayer.
As for one who denies the obligation of the prayer, he commits disbelief by the consensus of the Muslims. But as for one who does not deny the obligation of the prayer, but is lazy at times, the majority of the scholars say: he does not commit disbelief, and he must make them up. However, the correct view is that he commits disbelief by doing so, and that repentance is sufficient. If he makes them up, there is no harm. We ask Allah for safety. Yes.
