Ruling on one who says: My wife is divorced if I return and I return

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
One of the listening brothers says: The sender (J. A. Saleh) asks and says: My sponsor has been hard on me and has burdened me with more than I can bear. One time I said: My wife is divorced if I return a second time. I said it to myself, and then I returned a second time. I know that I went to my country and stayed there for six months, and then I returned. Now, more than a year and a half has passed. I also know that this was in the context of boasting about blessings, for I am among the memorizers of the Book of Allah, and I memorize almost the entire Qur'an, and I used to teach my sponsor's son the rules of Qur'anic recitation. Guide us, may Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
This requires detailed explanation: If by your saying, "If I return, your wife is divorced," you intended to refrain from returning, and your intention was not to effect the divorce, but rather to prevent yourself from returning, and your intention was not to divorce your wife, then its ruling is the ruling of an oath, and you owe the expiation for an oath. However, if you intended the divorce, then the divorce takes place... there is no obstacle to its taking place.
So the conclusion is: You should ask the judge in your country. You should be present with the woman and her guardian so that the judge can guide you to what is obligatory. The point is that this requires detailed explanation, and the court's decision in your place—may Allah will it—is sufficient. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
