The Cure for Resentment and Envy

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
This questioner says in this question: How can a person remove resentment and hatred for some people from his heart? I feel that sometimes this resentment and hatred moves away from me, and sometimes it returns. Is this from Shaytan? Please advise us, may Allah reward you.

Answer:
Envy and hatred can be removed by looking at the person's good deeds, and by recognizing that it is Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) who has favored him with success, and that this is from Allah. Then the person should repent from his hatred and envy, and know that this is from the grace, generosity, and bounty of Allah, until what is in his heart is removed. He should reflect and contemplate, and know that these things which Allah has granted the servant, such as health and uprightness, or good status, or righteous deeds, or the like, are all from Allah . So let him know that Allah is the One who distributes sustenance, and He is the One in whose hand is everything. He should ask Him (Exalted and Majestic is He) for success and guidance, and to remove from his heart the hatred for his brother, or the envy for his brother. Everything is in the hand of Allah .
So you must ask Allah to help you with good, to rectify your heart, and to protect you from the evil of envy, hatred, and resentment toward your brothers. All of this is in His hand, Glorified and Exalted is He. He is the one who turns affairs, (Exalted and Majestic is He). He said, (peace and blessings be upon him):
Indeed the hearts are between two Fingers of Allah's Fingers, He changes them as He wills.إن القلوب بين أصبعين من أصابع الله يقلبها كيف يشاء 
