The ruling on one who swore to abandon a sin and then returned to it

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
His last question says: I swore by placing my hand on the Book of Allah that I would abandon a specific sin, and I actually did abandon it, but it happened that I returned to it a second time. My question: Do I owe an expiation? I hope you will inform me. May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
You must perform both repentance and the expiation. Repentance to Allah, if it was a sin; if the act was a sin, and you owe the expiation—the expiation for an oath—which is feeding ten poor people, or clothing them. Feeding ten means providing them with a dinner, or if not, a breakfast, or giving them half a sa' (a dry measure of about 3 kg) of dates, or rice, or wheat, and it is better to include a condiment with it. Or you may clothe them with a garment that suffices them for prayer, such as a shirt, or a lower garment and an upper garment for each one. Or you may free a slave if you are able. If you are unable to do any of the three, you must fast for three days. This is the expiation for an oath. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good.
