Ruling on performing 'Umrah on behalf of the father and mother at the same time

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is it permissible for me to perform two 'Umrahs for my mother and my father at the same time?

Answer:
Yes, there is no harm in that. Each person has his own 'Umrah; each person has his own 'Umrah and ihram. You enter ihram for the 'Umrah on behalf of your father, or on behalf of your mother, and then you repeat it for your father or your mother. There is no harm in that, and praise be to Allah. This is because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
An Umra is an expiation for the sins committed between it and the next, and Hajj which is accepted will receive no other reward than Paradise.العمرة إلى العمرة كفارة لما بينهما، والحج المبرور ليس له جزاء إلا الجنة
Sahih Muslim 1349a
, and he did not specify a set number of days between the two 'Umrahs. This indicates that it is permissible, and praise be to Allah.
'Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) performed two 'Umrahs in less than twenty days (may Allah be pleased with her) during the Farewell Pilgrimage: one 'Umrah combined with her Hajj, and one independent 'Umrah on the night of the fourteenth of Dhul-Hijjah, by the command of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good. So in this case, he performs tawaf twice and sa'y twice, but enters ihram only once?

The Shaykh : No, he enters ihram twice, performs sa'y twice, and performs tawaf twice. Each one has a specific ihram. He enters ihram for his father, or his mother, for example. When he is finished with that, and he wants to enter ihram for his father after one day, or two days, or more, or less, there is nothing wrong with it. But the ihram is for only one person.

The presenter : Is the ihram for one person?

The Shaykh : ... Then the ihram is for one of them, and then he enters ihram a second time for the other one. The ihram is never for two people; it is only for one person. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah bless you, may Allah reward you with good.
