Warning Against Hurrying in Supplication

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
The supplication of the servant is granted in case he does not supplicate for sin or for severing the ties of blood, or he does not become impatientيستجاب للعبد ما لم يدع بإثم، أو قطيعة رحم ما لم يستعجل
Sahih Muslim 2735c
It was said: O Messenger of Allah! What is hurrying? He said:
That he should say like this: I supplicated and I supplicated but I did not find it being responded. and theu he becomes frustrated and abandons supplication.يقول: قد دعوت فلم يستجب لي، فيستحسر عند ذلك، ويدع الدعاء
Sahih Muslim 2735c
Does this apply to one who said that in his heart? Please guide us in light of this question?

Answer:
The believer should beware of this.
The servant is answered as long as he does not hurry; he says: I supplicated and supplicated but I do not see it being answered, so he becomes despondent and gives up supplication.يستجاب للعبد ما لم يستعجل؛ يقول: دعوت ودعوت فلم أره يستجاب لي، فيستحسر، ويدع الدعاء
This is something the believer should not do. Rather, he should strive in supplication, persist, and hope for a response; for Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, is Wise and All-Knowing. He may delay the response for a benefit for you, so that you continue in supplication, earn reward for your supplication, and be rewarded for it. And through this supplication, you turn to Allah, perform righteous deeds, and guard against evil deeds, so you benefit from this supplication because you strove in righteous deeds and stayed away from evil deeds. Thus, this became good for you; this supplication and this need became good for you. So do not be weary; persist in supplication, even if the response is delayed. And beware of sins that may hinder the response, and severing family ties as well.
The point is: that a person supplicates to Allah, strives in supplication, and does not become weary. He does not say: I supplicated but I was not answered. He is patient... he is patient... he is patient... The response may be delayed for a profound wisdom.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, Your Eminence the Shaykh.
