Question:
What is the ruling on persisting in supplication and what is the ruling on hastening in seeking a response?

Answer:
Answer: Persisting is required and prescribed, and it is most beloved to Allah (Mighty and Majestic) that the servant persists in supplication, because supplication is worship. As for the matter of hastening in the response, that is up to Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He). It is not disliked if there is delay; perhaps the delay is better for him. Allah knows, and you do not know. So he supplicates, he does the cause, and he entrusts the response to Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He). He may hasten the response, and He may delay it for a great wisdom. But he does not despair and lose hope, saying, "I have supplicated and supplicated and I have not been answered," and then he leaves off supplication. No, he persists in supplication and continues it.
