Urging gentleness in calling to Allah

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
This questioner for the program says in this question, which he coded with the name (A. A), he says: My question is about the sermons and lectures we hear from some of the preachers—may Allah guide them—where harsh and violent speech comes from them against some of those who have committed a transgression, and some people commit this transgression out of ignorance. Is this prescribed?

Answer:
The Sunnah for the preacher and the one who reminds is gentleness, using good manners, encouraging and warning, and arguing in the best manner. This is the Sunnah. Allah the Exalted said:
Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction, and argue with them in a way that is bestادْعُ إِلَى سَبِيلِ رَبِّكَ بِالْحِكْمَةِ وَالْمَوْعِظَةِ الْحَسَنَةِ وَجَادِلْهُمْ بِالَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ
[Surah al-Nahl: 125] so that people will accept the truth, and so that they will submit to hearing the good, and so that they will be reassured. It is not permissible to use such harshness and severity in this; because this drives people away from hearing the sermons and reminders.
And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
He who is deprived of gentleness is deprived of good.من يحرم الرفق يحرم الخير كله
Sunan Abi Dawud 4809Sahih (Al-Albani)
And Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) said in describing His Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
So by mercy from Allah, [O Muhammad], you were lenient with them. And if you had been rude [in speech] and harsh in heart, they would have disbanded from about you.
[Surah Al-Imran: 159] So as long as the listeners are paying attention to the speech and benefiting from it, praise be to Allah. He should continue, and he should observe good manners and gentleness, hoping that Allah will benefit them with what they hear.
As for the one who transgresses and wrongs; he has another matter, in his book, and in his punishment for what he deserves, as Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) said:
And do not argue with the People of the Scripture except in a way that is best, except for those who commit injustice among themوَلا تُجَادِلُوا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ إِلَّا بِالَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ إِلَّا الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا مِنْهُمْ
[Surah al-Ankabut: 46] Whoever wrongs among them has a punishment fitting for him. But the caller uses gentleness in his calling, and if the need arises for severity in some of the wrongs; because their owner has wronged, transgressed, and been stubborn; then there is no harm. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
