If the deceased is not buried, will he be subjected to the punishment of the grave?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
This questioner from Yemen says: Some people may die due to the collapse of a building on them, and consequently, it becomes difficult to move them and bury them in the graves of Muslims. Will these people be subjected to the punishment of the grave while in their locations, or what? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
Every deceased person is tested in any location, whether on land, in the sea, in a collapse, or elsewhere. The angel is sent to him to test him. If he is happy, he will attain bliss, and his soul will be transferred to Paradise. If he is wretched, he will be subjected to punishment, and his soul will go to the Fire—may Allah grant us safety. So the believer is in a good state, whether he is in a collapse, in the sea, or in any location; he is in great goodness, and bliss reaches him in his place, and his soul is transferred to the abode of honor, to Paradise, as mentioned in the authentic hadith:
That the souls of the believers are birds that roam in Paradise, and the souls of the martyrs are in the bellies of green birds that roam in Paradise wherever they wish, then they return to lamps hanging beneath the Throne.أن أرواح المؤمنين طائر يسرح في الجنة، وأرواح الشهداء في أجواف طير خضر تسرح في الجنة حيث شاءت، ثم تأوي إلى قناديل معلقة تحت العرش
.
And the believer sees his place in Paradise and his place in the Fire. It is said: This is your place in Paradise... and he receives from its breeze and its bliss. And this is your place in the Fire; may Allah suffice you from it and prevent you from it because of your obedience and your tawhid (the oneness of Allah). The disbeliever is the opposite of that.
So the point is: the deceased, in any location, whether in a collapse or elsewhere, will receive what Allah has promised him of good and evil. Yes.

The presenter: Thank you, O Shaykh, and may Allah bless you and your knowledge, and benefit the Muslims through you.
