The ruling on slaughtering an animal upon seeing a deceased relative in a dream

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A message was received by the program from Doha, Qatar, sent by a brother of ours from there. He says: Your brother Ali 'Amir al-Shamri. Our brother says in his message: Some people, when they dream of a deceased person, if it is their cousin or one of their relatives, they slaughter an animal. I ask about this action: is it correct or not?

Answer:
There is no basis for this. The fact that if he sees a relative or someone else, he slaughters an animal, this has no basis. If he sees something that pleases him, let him praise Allah, and let him make du'a' for his Muslim brother. And if he sees something that distresses him, it is from Shaytan. So when he wakes up, let him spit dryly to his left three times, and let he seek refuge in Allah from Shaytan and from the evil of what he saw, three times. Then let him turn over to his other side, for it will not harm him, and he should not tell anyone about it. This is what the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
A good vision is from Allah, and a dream is from Shaytan. So if one of you sees something that pleases him, let him praise Allah and tell it to those he loves. And if he sees something that distresses him, let him spit dryly to his left three times, and let him seek refuge in Allah from Shaytan and from the evil of what he saw, three times. Then let him turn over to his other side, for it will not harm him, and he should not tell anyone about it.
. This is what is prescribed. As for slaughtering an animal or giving charity, this has no basis.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
