Guidance for one who calls to Allah but does not practice everything he says

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The questioner (S. A. M. L.) from Ethiopia has another question. He says: I often rush into calling people to Allah , but I notice in myself that I do not comply with everything I say, and this leaves me in confusion and anxiety. What do you advise me to do? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
We advise you to seek help from Allah in calling and in action, and to strive against your soul so that you act upon what Allah has made obligatory, and so that you abandon what Allah has forbidden, and so that you be among the quickest of people to the good to which you call, and among the farthest of people from the evil from which you warn, so that those you call to Allah do not have an excuse against you, and so that they do not say: If this were true, his actions would not contradict his words, and his words would not contradict his actions. Allah the Exalted says:
O you who have believed, why do you say what you do not do?يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آَمَنُوا لِمَ تَقُولُونَ مَا لا تَفْعَلُونَ ۝
[As-Saf 61:2]
It is a great sin in the sight of Allah that you say what you do not do [Al-Saff: 2, 3], and He rebukes the Children of Israel, saying to them the Exalted:
Do you order righteousness of the people and forget yourselves while you recite the Scripture? Then will you not reason?
[Al-Baqarah: 44].
So, my brother, you must not be cowardly, and you must not weaken in calling if you have knowledge; call to Allah according to your knowledge and insight. You must beware of speaking about Allah without knowledge.
Say, "This is my way; I invite to Allah with insightقُلْ هَذِهِ سَبِيلِي أَدْعُوا إِلَى اللَّهِ عَلَى بَصِيرَةٍ
[Yusuf: 108].
So if you have knowledge, call to Allah according to the knowledge you have from the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him).
And you must ask the scholars known for goodness, virtue, and insight about what is difficult for you. You must strive to reflect upon the Book of Allah and to read it frequently. Likewise, with the Sunnah, strive to memorize what is easy for you and to understand the intent of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Discuss this with the scholars so that you may be upon clear proof.
And along with that, you must act upon what Allah has made obligatory for you, and you must guard against what Allah has forbidden for you. You must not be like a wick that lights the way for people while burning itself up. Fear Allah; do not light the way for people while burning yourself. Rather, light the way for people and shine for them, act in obedience to your Lord, and guard against His disobedience .
May Allah make us and you among the guides who are guided. Yes.

The presenter: O Allah, amen. May Allah reward you with good.
