The ruling on one who intended to perform 'Umrah on behalf of her grandfather but did not do so

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
In the second question from this questioner from Jeddah, Umm Mahmoud says: Your Eminence, I stated in my intention that I would perform 'Umrah for my deceased grandfather, and it was my intention that this would be the first 'Umrah I would perform after making that statement. However, I subsequently performed 'Umrah for myself, knowing that I had performed 'Umrah before that. Then I intended to perform Hajj as a mutamatti'ah, so I performed another 'Umrah and Hajj, praise be to Allah. I did not have the opportunity to perform 'Umrah for my grandfather before Hajj, and I have not performed it to this day. Is my Hajj valid? And what is required of me?

Answer:
Yes, your Hajj is valid, and the 'Umrah is valid, praise be to Allah; because this is not a vow, it is an intention, so nothing is required of you. When it becomes easy for you to perform 'Umrah for your grandfather, there is no harm in doing so. Otherwise, the 'Umrah you performed is valid, and the Hajj is valid, praise be to Allah; because this is not a vow, it is an intention, a mere intention, yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you, O Shaykh.
