The universality of the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) message to the jinn and mankind
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
He says: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was sent to the jinn and mankind in their entirety. The question is: Was this the case with the messengers before him (peace be upon them), or was Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) the first messenger to these creatures—the jinn?
Direct us, may Allah reward you with good.
Answer:
The past prophets and messengers, each one was sent to his own people. As for the jinn, they had their own messengers; messengers were sent to them as warnings from among their own people, from their own group. As for our Messenger Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), he was sent to everyone; to the jinn and mankind. This is specific to him (may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him). No messenger was sent to the jinn and mankind together except Muhammad (may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him). This is because every messenger is sent to his own people, from the jinn and mankind of his region, or his location, from the jinn and mankind to whom he is sent. Even if he does not know the details of the jinn or the names of the jinn, he is sent to them. It is obligatory for them to listen to him and obey him, to benefit from his message, and to act upon it, if they are from his people, from his land, from the people to whom he was sent. In that case, they are obligated to follow this messenger because he was sent to his people. Yes.
