Ruling on engaging in what one believed to be a sin but is not a sin

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
If a Muslim repents from a sin he believed to be a sin, and then later discovers that it is not a sin, is he required to perform an expiation if he returns to it, and what is required of him? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
He is rewarded for his repentance and for his belief. And if it is established that it is not a sin, there is nothing wrong with him engaging in it, provided he is a student of knowledge and has come to know this, or the scholars have issued a ruling that it is not a sin; in that case, he has done nothing wrong by engaging in it thereafter.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
