The second question of Fatwa No. ( 7825 )
Q 2: If a person sins and seeks forgiveness, then sins and seeks forgiveness, and so on, taking a period during which he does not return to the sin, and then after a period he returns to it, what is the ruling on this? And thank you.
A 2: If he seeks forgiveness from Allah and repents to Him with sincere repentance and abandons the sin, Allah will turn to him in mercy and forgive him. If he returns to the sin and then seeks forgiveness and repents with sincere repentance and abandons the sin, Allah will turn to him in mercy and forgive him, and so on. The sin of the past does not return after sincere repentance from it. Allah the Exalted said:[Taha 20:82] And He said: [An-Najm 53:32] And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
