Question:
With the beginning of this episode, we return to a message received by the program from the listener Abdul-Rahim Ahmad from Abu Dhabi. We presented some of his questions in a previous episode, and in this episode he asks and says: If a man proposes to a family, is it permissible for him to go to their house to visit them in order to finalize the agreement on everything? And also in order for affection to be established between the bride and groom? Please guide us, may Allah reward you with good.
Answer:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow his guidance. As for what follows:
There is no blame on the suitor for visiting the family of the woman he has proposed to; there is nothing wrong with that if there is a benefit for the suitor and the woman, such as getting to know one another, learning about the circumstances of everyone, and cooperating in righteousness and piety. The point is: there is no blame on the visit for the sake of benefit, yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
