What is the ruling on a woman going to a hairdresser?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
As for what follows: Peace be upon you, and Allah's mercy and blessings. I am one of the listeners to your program, and I often admire it, and I often encourage people to listen to it. I have some questions, and I hope you will be generous enough to answer them. First, she asks: What is the ruling on a woman going to a hairdresser, if the workers there are women, for the purpose of adornment and beautification? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
May Allah reward you for your work, and you have done well in listening to this program and calling people to it, because it is very beneficial and useful. So we ask Allah to make it more beneficial, and to guide the Muslims to beneficial knowledge and righteous deeds.
As for the hairdresser, I advise you not to go to it at all. What is customary between you, your group, your mother, and your sisters is sufficient, and there is no need for the hairdressers that people have introduced now. It involves excessive effort, wasting money, and it may lead to evil. It may lead to evil, even if the workers there are women. So whenever it is possible to do without it, that is better.
As for if the worker is a woman, and she does nothing but what is permissible, such as arranging the hair, cleaning it, and combing it, and the like, then there is nothing wrong with that. But if she has something else, such as plucking the eyebrows, or things that Allah has forbidden, then beware.
As for if she has nothing but what Allah has permitted, such as how a woman combs her hair, and teaching her how to clean herself, and the like, then there is nothing wrong with that. But generally, as far as I have heard, they have things in this work that contradict the Shari'ah. So I advise against that, so that there is no excessive effort, and one should be content with what is customary in a place like your home, and the homes of those like you. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
