What does one do if he prays witr before sleeping and then gets up in the last part of the night?

Question:
After this message, a message was received for the program from Yemen, sent by a listener who referred to his name by the letters (M. A). He says in one of his questions: Is the witr prayer immediately after the 'Isha' prayer, or after the middle of the night? This is because I pray witr at eleven o'clock after finishing my work. Is it permissible for me to pray tahajjud before the dawn? Because I have heard people say: There is no prayer after witr. And I pray witr at eleven o'clock—as I told you before—before sleeping; because on most days I do not wake up until the time of the Fajr prayer. Please advise us, may Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
The time for witr begins from when you finish the 'Isha' prayer. The time for witr is between the 'Isha' prayer and the dawn. This is the time for witr. And tahajjud is between the 'Isha' prayer and the dawn. If you pray witr in the middle of the night, or in the last part of the night, that is better. The last part of the night is better, the time of the Divine Descent, the last third, or in... in the fourth sixth, and the fifth sixth of the night. This is the time of the prayer of Dawud (peace be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said regarding it:
The best prayer is the prayer of Dawudأفضل الصلاة صلاة داود
Meaning: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)
who used to sleep for (the first) half of the night and pray for 1/3 of it and (again) sleep for a sixth of itكان ينام نصف الليل، ويقوم ثلثه، وينام سدسه
Sahih al-Bukhari 3420
So he sleeps the first half, then he gets up for the fourth and fifth sixths. He prays tahajjud, so he gets up for half of the middle third, and half of the last third.
And if you pray witr, and you pray tahajjud in the last third, that is also a great and noble time. It includes half of the last third, which is what Dawud used to pray in, and the second half of the last third, about which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Our lord gets down every night to the heaven of this world when a third night remains and says: (Is there anyone) who prays to Me so that I may accept his prayer? (Is there anyone) who asks of Me so that I may give him? (Is there anyone) who asks for my forgiveness so that I may forgive him?ينزل ربنا إلى سماء الدنيا كل ليلة حين يبقى ثلث الليل الآخر، فيقول: من يدعوني فأستجيب له، من يسألني فأعطيه، من يستغفرني فأغفر له
Sunan Abi Dawud 4733Sahih (Al-Albani)
.
The summary is: The best time for tahajjud is the last half, from the beginning of the last half to the end of the night; meaning: the fourth sixth, the fifth sixth, and the sixth, meaning: the last half, the second half.
And if you pray witr at the beginning of the night before you sleep, and Allah makes it easy for you to get up in the last part of the night; pray what Allah makes easy for you. The first witr is sufficient for you, and you pray what Allah makes easy for you, two rak'ahs, or more. You say the taslim after every two rak'ahs, and you do not repeat the witr. The first witr is sufficient. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to pray two rak'ahs after the witr while sitting; to let people know that there is no harm in that.
It is better for the witr to be at the end of the night, concluding the night prayer with it. But if one prays witr at the beginning of the night, or in the middle of it, and then Allah makes it easy for him to get up in the last part of the night; then he prays tahajjud what Allah makes easy for him, and says the taslim after every two rak'ahs, and does not repeat the witr. The first witr is sufficient for him, and praise be to Allah. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
