What are the reasons for the acceptance of supplication?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Your Eminence, when is supplication answered? Is it answered for everyone? Or are there specific conditions that you advise us to follow?

Answer:
Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, has promised to answer the supplication of His servants, as He, Glorified and Exalted is He, said:
And your Lord says, "Call upon Me; I will respond to you."وَقَالَ رَبُّكُمُ ادْعُونِي أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ
[Surah Ghafir: 60] and as He, Glorified and Exalted is He, said:
And when My servants ask you, [O Muhammad], concerning Me - indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Meوَإِذَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادِي عَنِّي فَإِنِّي قَرِيبٌ أُجِيبُ دَعْوَةَ الدَّاعِ إِذَا دَعَانِ
[Surat al-Baqarah: 186]. However, there are reasons for the acceptance of supplication, among which are:
Humility and earnestness in turning to Allah, and supplicating to Him with sincerity, pure intention, and a heart turned toward Allah.
And among them: avoiding sins, being cautious of sins, and turning to the obedience of Allah , for sins are among the reasons for the prevention of the acceptance of supplication.
And among them: not being heedless, and supplicating with a present heart turned toward Allah, not with a distracted and heedless heart; for the distraction of the heart, the heedlessness of the heart, and the failure of the heart to turn to Allah during supplication are among the reasons for the non-acceptance of supplication.
And the acceptance of supplication may be delayed for a profound wisdom, as in the authentic hadith where he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
No servant supplicates to Allah with a supplication that contains no sin and no severing of family ties but that Allah gives him one of three things: either his supplication is hastened for him in this world, or it is stored for him in the Hereafter, or He averts from him an evil equal to it.
They said: O Messenger of Allah, in that case, we will supplicate a lot. He said:
Allah is more.الله أكثر
This indicates that Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, may prevent the acceptance of supplication and delay it until the Day of Resurrection, giving him thereby good in Paradise. He may also avert from him an evil that is more beneficial to him than what he asked for. Your Lord is Wise and Knowing, Glorified and Exalted is He; He is the Wise, the Knowing in what He decrees and determines—(Exalted and Majestic is He)—so the servant should persist in supplication, not hasten for the acceptance, and not despair. He should ask, increase in supplication, persist, and not despair, knowing that his Lord is Wise and Knowing, who may hasten the acceptance, may delay it, and may give him, Glorified and Exalted is He, better than what he asked for. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
