Does one commit a sin if intrusive thoughts that cast doubt on the religion occur to him?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Our brother asks and says: Sometimes—especially when I increase in worship and recitation of the Qur'an—I experience intrusive thoughts, but without my tongue uttering them. These thoughts want me to curse the religion, for example, or to curse everything in the religion. Is a person held accountable for the intrusive thoughts of the heart if he does not utter anything?

Answer:
This is from Shaytan, and there is no blame on him for it, but he must fight against it; he must fight against it, and seek refuge in Allah from Shaytan. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about this, and some of the Companions said to him: O Messenger of Allah! One of us finds in himself what would be easier for him to fall from the sky than to speak of. He said:
That is the whisperingتلك الوسوسة
And in the other wording:
If one of you finds that, let him say: I have believed in Allah and His messengers, and let him seek refuge in Allah and let him stopإذا وجد أحدكم ذلك؛ فليقل: آمنت بالله، ورسله، وليستعذ بالله ولينته
And he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Allah, the Most High, has forgiven my followers what they contemplate on within themselves (i.e. evil thoughts) as long as they do not act upon or speak about them.إن الله تجاوز عن أمتي ما حدثت به أنفسها ما لم تعمل، أو تكلم
Bulugh al-Maram 8:133
.
So the believer is not harmed by that, but he must fight against these things; he must fight against these fleeting thoughts, and say: I have believed in Allah and His messengers, I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Shaytan, and it ends. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
