Whispers from Satan

Machine translationRead the Arabic original

The second question of Fatwa No. ( 9306 ):

Q2: I constantly find myself in a state of doubt (waswas) in my prayer and my fasting. A feeling that constantly haunts me, and sometimes the doubt extends to the non-existence of Allah, the futility of prayer, and other things. Is waswas a physical or psychological illness, or is it a habit? Do I have any sin in this, and what is my standing with Allah on the Day of Resurrection? And do I find a cure for doubt and waswas in Islam?
A2: These doubts and whispers that afflict you are from Satan. You must turn away from them and not pay attention to them, seek refuge in Allah from Satan, and frequently say: “I believe in Allah and His Messengers,” as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) guided those who fall into such whispers to do. And success is from Allah. May Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
